Preschool and Day Care Council

At its June 2, 2026, meeting, the City Council approved establishing a Preschool and Day Care Council. The council will oversee preschool and day care services for children as currently defined in Article 3 of the School & Recreation Council's resolution, including preschool board duties under the Preschool Act No. 90/2008 and the social affairs committee's responsibilities for home daycare under Article 34 of the Municipalities' Social Services Act No. 40/1991. In consultation with the School & Recreation Council, the Presidium will draft bylaws for the new council. The Presidium will submit these bylaws, along with proposed amendments to the School & Recreation Council's bylaws, for approval at the City Council's first meeting in September 2026. Until the new resolution is adopted, the council will operate under the School & Recreation Council's resolution.
